Single eccentric butterfly valve

To address the issue of butterfly plate and valve seat extrusion in concentric butterfly valves, a solution was developed in the form of a single eccentric butterfly valve. This innovative design involves positioning the valve stem's shaft center away from the butterfly plate's center, thereby preventing the lower end of the plate from becoming the rotation axis. This intentional deviation serves to disperse and mitigate the excessive squeezing that occurs between the upper and lower ends of the butterfly plate and the valve seat. Consequently, this novel approach effectively minimizes the potential for extrusion-related problems in the valve's operation.

Double eccentric butterfly valve

The most widely used double eccentric butterfly valve is the double eccentric butterfly valve, which is based on the single eccentric butterfly valve. The valve stem axis deviates from the center of the butterfly plate and the center of the body, resulting in a double eccentric effect. This enables the butterfly plate to be released from the valve seat immediately after the valve is opened, which significantly reduces unnecessary excessive extrusion and scratching of the valve seat and the butterfly plate. Furthermore, this design reduces the opening resistance, minimizes wear and tear, and enhances the valve seat's longevity.

Triple eccentric butterfly valve

To achieve resistance against high temperatures, hard seals are required, but with it comes a significant amount of leakage. Conversely, soft seals are necessary for zero leakage, but they cannot withstand high temperatures. To tackle the dual nature of the double eccentric butterfly valve, a third eccentricity was introduced where the sealing pair is designed as an oblique cone rather than a positive cone.

Variable eccentric butterfly valve

The variable eccentric butterfly valve is a uniquely designed valve with a three-segment shaft structure. The valve stem has two concentric shaft sections with the central shaft line deviating from the axis at two ends by a center distance. The butterfly plate is installed on the intermediate shaft section, giving it a double eccentric shape when fully open and a single eccentric shape when closed.
This eccentric structure enables the butterfly plate to move a distance into the sealing cone surface of the valve seat, ensuring reliable sealing performance. Metal ring seals are typically used for the sealing type.
