High Viscosity Gear Pump
Product Description
The traits of high viscosity gear pumps have been studied both domestically and internationally. Here are some key features that have been identified: high viscosity capabilities, precision engineering, and reliable operation. Today, manufacturers continue to push the limits of gear pump technology, exploring new materials and designs that will further enhance performance. By staying abreast of these developments, engineers and designers are able to create gear pumps that offer efficient, long-lasting solutions for a wide range of fluid transfer applications. With ongoing progress in the field, the future of high viscosity gear pumps looks bright indeed.
1. Gear structure
High-viscosity gear pumps are equipped with gears that can have different types of teeth, including straight, helical, herringbone, and helical teeth. These gears can be designed with tooth profiles such as involute and circular arc. It is important to note that gear pumps are commonly used for handling high-viscosity fluids due to their unique tooth configurations and efficient pumping capabilities.
It's common for small gear pumps to utilize involute spur gears, while displacement gears are often preferred for high-temperature gear pumps. On the other hand, melt pumps that transport high-pressure and high-viscosity polymer melts usually rely on involute helical gears.
The combination of gear and shaft in one body makes for a gear pump with superior rigidity and reliability compared to those manufactured separately. Foreign low-pressure gear pumps frequently utilize a square tooth structure, which means that the gear's tooth width is equal to the addendum circle's diameter.
In high-pressure applications, high-viscosity gear pumps are designed with a tooth width that is less than the diameter of the addendum circle. The purpose behind this design choice is to minimize the radial pressure area exerted on the gears, thereby reducing the load borne by both the gears and the bearings.
2. Pump body and heating method
The temperature and pressure resistance of a gear pump is generally higher when the pump casing is heavier. Nodular cast iron is commonly used as the material for the pump body, although it can also be produced using a hard mold made of casting aluminum alloy or extruded aluminum alloy profiles. In cases where the conveyed medium is corrosive, using stainless steel, which is more expensive, is recommended.

Packaging & Shipping
Our packing method involves securing each pump set within a sturdy plywood case with attached timbers and a layer of protective plastic film lining the interior. This ensures safe and secure transportation.
In order to ensure proper packing and avoid any damage, we will be conducting container loading inspections at our factory. This step will be closely monitored to guarantee that the items are packed correctly.
