There are two types of Parker plunger pumps available: the swash plate type and the inclined axis type. The swash plate type consists of a swash plate that is inclined at an angle relative to the rotating cylinder, resulting in a reciprocating motion of the plunger within the pump cylinder. The drive shaft axis is aligned with the cylinder axis in this type of pump, making it a relatively simple design with high speed capabilities. However, the contact between the end of the plunger and the swash plate is often a weak point in this type of pump, leading to potential issues.

The Parker gear pump is a type of rotary pump that functions by facilitating the movement and alteration of the working volume between the pump cylinder and the interlocking gear to propel liquid or create pressure. It consists of two gears, a pump body, and front and rear covers that form two enclosed spaces. As the gears rotate, the volume of space on the gear disengagement side increases from a small size to generate suction and bring in the liquid, while the volume of space on the gear meshing side enlarges from a larger size to compress the liquid into the pipeline. The meshing line of the two gears separates the suction cavity and the discharge cavity, where the discharge pressure from the Parker gear pump entirely relies on the pump resistance.
