Single eccentric butterfly valve

To address the issue of tight fit between the butterfly plate and valve seat in concentric butterfly valves, a solution was devised in the form of a single eccentric butterfly valve. This type of valve incorporates a structural modification wherein the shaft center of the valve stem is not aligned with the center of the butterfly plate. This deviation ensures that the lower end of the butterfly plate no longer serves as the axis of rotation, effectively reducing excessive compression between the upper end of the plate and the valve seat. Despite this advantage, the single eccentric butterfly valve does have its limitations. While it manages to mitigate the problem to some degree during the valve switching process, it does not entirely eliminate the potential for scratching between the butterfly plate and the valve seat. Consequently, its application is similar to that of the concentric butterfly valve, resulting in limited usage.
